Study participants will receive additional information about their child’s behavior and development, as well as access to educational resources. Based on the results of the questionnaires, children with a high level of need will be referred to a Duke Assessment Center (A+ Assessment) for further evaluation. Additionally, families involved in the study will play a key role in helping researchers better understand the development of behavioral challenges in young children and identify effective ways to reduce the impact for children and their families.
While participation in research may offer benefits, it always includes some potential risks. We do not expect this study to pose risks beyond what one might encounter is daily life or through routine medical check-ups. The study team is available to answer all questions about the study for parents to make a decision about participation.
